Good morning ladies and gentlemen,/
honorable Mr. Huang Xiaoxiang, Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial
People’s Government,/
Ms.Sheng Shuying, Deputy Director-Level Official of the General Office
of General Administration of Sports of China,/
Ms.Zhu ling, Director of Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau,/
Mr.Xu yang, Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial Department of
Information Industry,/
Mr. Wang Zhonglin, Vice Mayor of Chengdu,/
reporters and distinguished guests./
It is a great honor for me / to welcome Chengdu / as the host city for
the World Cyber Games 2009,/ through this official signing ceremony./
First of all, / I would like to thank / everyone in attendance today./
I would also like to take time / to express my sincere appreciation / to
all the Chinese people / whose hard work and dedication / made this
signing ceremony possible./
Since the launching / of the World Cyber Games in 2000/, we have grown
to become / the world largest computer and video game festival./
For last 7 consecutives years, WCG continues to deliver / top-notch
competitive video game excitement / to destinations / all around the
world. /
For selecting WCG 2009 grand final host city,/
The World Cyber Games Committee / considers numerous factors including
geography, facilities, infrastructure / and marketing plans and others./
Chengdu received / the highest scores/ among 7 candidate cities,/ due to
the extensive support / offered by local government, / accessibility of
the Grand Final venue, /a variety network potential of broadcasters and
many more. /
With that said,/ it is our great honor / to officially announce /
Chengdu, China / as the 2009 host city for the World Cyber Games/
Congratulations! /
As I know, Chengdu has a long and valuable history / dating back more
than 2,300 years./ And it is the center / for science and technology,/
commerce and finance,/ as well as a hub / for transportation and
communication / in southwest China./
Chengdu also has been hosting / many large-scaled e-Sport events ever./
I think / Chengdu is a harmonized city / where history and cutting-edge
coexist ./
We are very confident / that the World Cyber Games 2009 with city of
Chengdu / will continue to build and expand / the growing tradition of
e-Sport./
As the third Asian host city / of the World Cyber Games, / the City of
Chengdu will definitely help / increase the competitive gaming
industry’s profile / and serve as a very important promoter / of
e-sports in worldwide./
At this point,/ we also anticipate a great success / for the event, for
gamers and general public./
We believe / that the powerful driving force / displayed by the local
government / during the selection process / will continue to contribute
/ to a very successful World Cyber Games 2009 Grand Final./
Once again,/ I would like to congratulate / the city of Chengdu / for
being selected as the WCG 2009 Grand Final host city and I will cherish
all your hard effort./
I look forward to seeing you / next year / for the World Cyber Games
2009 Grand Final./

女士们、先生们，
尊敬的四川省人民政府副省长黄小祥先生，
中国国家体育总局办公厅副巡视员盛淑英女士，
四川省体育局局长朱玲女士，
四川省信息产业厅副厅长徐扬先生，
成都市人民政府副市长王忠林先生、
媒体界的朋友们，与会的各位嘉宾，大家上午好！
成都成为2009年世界电子竞技大赛全球总决赛的举办城市，在此，通过今天的签字仪式，我倍感荣幸地对成都表示欢迎。
首先我要对出席此次签字仪式的各位嘉宾表示感谢。
我还要对为促成此次签字仪式而付出努力的所有中国人民表达我最真诚的谢意！
自世界电子竞技大赛于2000年首次举办至今，该赛事已经成为当今世界最具影响力的电子游戏盛会。
连续7年来，世界电子竞技大赛一直为世界各地带来最具冲击力的电子游戏体验。
在2009年世界电子竞技大赛全球总决赛主办城市的筛选过程中，世界电子竞技大赛委员会综合考虑了包括地理、配套设施、基础设施、营销方案在内的诸多因素。
强大的政府支持、优越的赛场条件加之强大的传媒力量使得成都从7个候选城市中脱颖而出，成为得分最高的城市。
值此，我们很荣幸的宣布：成都成为2009年世界电子竞技大赛的主办城市！祝贺你们！
据我所知，成都是座具有悠久历史的名城，其历史可以上溯至2300年前。成都还是中国西南地区的科技、商贸和金融中心，以及重要的交通及通信枢纽。
成都亦曾数次举办大型的体育赛事。我认为，成都是一座和谐之都，在这里，历史的沧桑感与高度发展的现代文明水乳交融、和谐共生！
我们坚信，随着成都的加盟：2009年世界电子竞技大赛必定进一步加强和扩大电子竞技运动的影响力！
作为第三个举办世界电子竞技大赛的亚洲城市，成都必将在促进竞技游戏产业的发展及其全球化方面起到至关重要的作用！
我们衷心希望该赛事能够圆满举行，并预祝各参赛选手能在赛场上有所斩获，也希望以之为媒让社会公众体验到电子竞技游戏的乐趣。
我们坚信，当地政府必将会一如既往地支持世界电子竞技大赛，有了这个前提，2009年世界电子竞技大赛总决赛必将圆满举行！
请允许我再次对成都的入选表示由衷的祝贺，对你们所作的努力，我们将铭记！
